Chynna Benson (she/her) is an arts administrator, brand marketer, and photographer who is passionate about theatre and the impact of live performance for artists and audiences. Chynna is currently the Administrator for the theatre department at Boston College. She will graduate from Boston University in May 2024 with a M.S. in Arts Administration and Advanced Graduate Certificate in Commercial Theatre Development.
Raised in New Jersey, she went on to receive her B.S. in Communications from Boston University and during that time held an internship at the American Repertory Theatre at Harvard University which solidified for her interest in working in theatre operations, which extended to roles at Boston Youth Symphony Orchestras, BU Today, and producing several student-led theatrical productions on campus.
Post-graduation, Chynna worked at global-experiential marketing agency Jack Morton Worldwide as an Account Executive following the completion of a Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion internship with the company, where she provided pre-event and on-site support for clients including NYTimes, Intel, Oracle, Nespresso, Goldman Sachs, and more.
Chynna has recently began volunteering in a marketing capacity at Sullivan Repertory Theatre, a non-profit theatre company in Newton, MA created by local artists who reflect the diversity of the community beginning its inaugural season this year. She is also taking on the role of Associate Director of the 26th Annual Boston College Arts Festival showcasing over 30 arts organizations and welcoming more than 16,000 guests.
Away from theatre, Chynna can be found tracking professional sports analytics to get a leg up on the competition in her many fantasy leagues; learning barista secrets with her many coffee gadgets, and exploring ways to capture the world through photography. She currently resides in Brighton, MA, a 30 minute MBTA ride from downtown Boston.
